Meet The Team

Lauren Teixeira, LOLA

Founder

Hello! I'm Lauren. I am a retired Children's Librarian and looking to find and connect people together who can join in advocating for local library service that is communiy-led and inspired. Once a librarian, always a librarian and so I am still immersed in everything libraries and library-community development. I am also a grandmother or Lola (grandmother in Tagalog, as Bert told me when we first met).

Community-Led library service is detailed in the book, 12 Steps to a Community-Led Library by Audrey Barbakoff and Noah Lenstra. Also see the toolkit developed (and free to download) by the Vancouver Public Library.

Bert Aguilera, LOLA

Founder

Bert is recently arrived from New Jersey where he once served as President of Library Trustees Secacus Public Library and Business Center. He now is an emerging Californian and California library advocate and super duper supporter of Fremont local library services. Bert has decades of history in non-profit management and fundraising that he is happy to bring with him to his new home. He's also a new Lolo (Tagalog for Grandfather).
